After deciding to contend the Clubman 600 Championship I still had no real expectations. That was all about to change...

I qualified 4th overall with a 49.1, 1st Clubman. I battled for the Clubman win, securing it in Race 1 (3rd overall). Race 2 was an improvement on that, as I stayed with the MRO leaders for most of the race dropping to a 48.7 before slowing to a more comfortable pace. 1st Clubman, 3rd overall. Race 3 was damp and put me back into a battle. 3rd Clubman, 6th overall. I crashed out of 2nd overall and Clubman in the final race in the rain.

Heading to Round 2 I'm in 3rd place with a real chance at taking the Clubman title...

On the outset of the trip I had no intention to race this year, but after a couple of days on track, a few beers, and some good friends, everything had changed!

Cartagena is a difficult circuit to enjoy, gaining time is a high risk activity involving a lot of trail braking and the potential of a Spanish hospital trip. Despite this I pushed myself as much as I was willing to on new rubber on Day 2, posting a 1:42.1, surprising a few people around me. This is where the discussion to race or not to race began...

My only regret for the trip was not taking nearly enough tyres. Out of 28 sessions, maybe 6 of those were on good tyres. We will know for next time! Roll on Round 1!

As it turns out, this bike suits me a lot! It's a dream to ride!

I was not expecting to take home a Clubman win in my first ever race on the bike, with only the MRO Champion finishing in front of me on track! It was a very wet race, and having only ridden in the dry on the test day I didn't know what to expect from the bike or myself. A lot of people were shocked by my result considering the company on track, but none more so than myself! 2nd overall, 1st Clubman.

This fills me with confidence for how much I can potentially grow with this bike!

So I may have been persuaded to enter into the final round of the year on my new bike...

Honestly I didn't require much persuasion, but that doesn't make it any less of a terrible idea! I haven't even sat on it yet because it's been at Moremoto being set up for me.

I'll have six 15 minute test sessions around Brands Indy circuit to learn the bike and develop some pace before qualifying on Saturday morning. I'm sure there's some famous expression about "the deep end" that would be applicable!

After a couple of months of searching I've finally got myself a Yamaha R6!

I decided that Minitwin racing was no longer the way forward for me some time ago. It had become a comfort zone that I needed to move out of. Since making that decision I've been on the look out for an R6 with the specifications that I'm after, and have now found it!

I plan to do a few track days on it to get used to it before I try racing it.
